Islamabad: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, is pursuing a path of confrontation and chaos rather than engaging in dialogue, which is undermining prospects for political reconciliation.
Speaking during a morning show on a private television channel, Rana Sanaullah said that the government has consistently kept the door open for dialogue to reduce political tension and ensure democratic continuity, but the opposition has failed to respond positively.
He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had extended offers for negotiations to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on four occasions in the past, but each time the government faced silence or outright refusal instead of constructive engagement.
Reiterating the importance of dialogue for resolving political differences, Rana Sanaullah said that politics and the democratic process move forward through negotiations rather than deadlock or confrontation. He urged all political forces to rise above personal and party interests and engage in serious discussions on national issues.
The prime minister’s adviser said that the PTI founder is currently following a policy of confrontation instead of practical politics, and negotiations are no longer part of his political strategy.
He further stated that decision-making within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has become confined to a single individual, while other party leaders have been left without any effective authority.
Rana Sanaullah added that under the prevailing circumstances, the PTI founder is seeking chaos and instability rather than dialogue, and it is this approach that has prevented meaningful negotiations between the government and the opposition.
