The Pakistan Railways has announced that train services from Quetta to the rest of the country and Chaman will remain suspended today as well, causing continued inconvenience for passengers. According to railway officials, the Bolan Mail operating between Karachi and Quetta will remain suspended until February 12.
Railway authorities stated that the prolonged suspension of train services from Balochistan to other parts of the country and Chaman has resulted in financial losses exceeding Rs 3 million so far, with the losses expected to increase further if the situation persists.
Meanwhile, the land routes are also facing disruption, as the Dera Ismail Khan–Loralai national highway connecting Punjab with Balochistan and the Quetta–Taftan national highway have remained closed for the past five days. The closure of these highways has not only affected passenger movement but has also disrupted goods transportation, negatively impacting trade activities.
Passengers have urged the government and relevant authorities to take immediate steps to restore train services and reopen highways, while ensuring safety, to ease the difficulties being faced by the public.
