Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stated that strong and coordinated measures at the global level are urgently required to protect the world from the menace of terrorism, adding that Pakistan is playing the role of a shield for the international community in the fight against terrorism.
The interior minister received telephone calls from his Italian counterpart, Matteo Piantedosi, and European Commissioner Magnus Brunner, during which both leaders strongly condemned the suicide bombing in Islamabad and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious human lives.
Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi said that he was deeply saddened by the tragic news of the Islamabad suicide attack and extended heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families on behalf of the Italian government and himself. He added that Italy stands with the people of Pakistan in this difficult time and strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms.
Piantedosi further said that terrorism is a shared global threat and Italy is ready to continue cooperation with Pakistan to effectively counter this challenge and ensure peace and security.
European Commissioner Magnus Brunner also expressed solidarity, stating that his thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and that the European Union stands with the people of Pakistan during this moment of grief.
Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Italian interior minister and the European commissioner for their expressions of solidarity, emphasizing that collective and sustained international efforts are essential to eliminate terrorism.
