PTI founder Imran Khan was shifted from Adiala Jail to PIMS Hospital for a follow-up related to his eye treatment, where he received medical care under the supervision of specialist doctors. According to officials, the transfer took place on February 24, and all medical procedures were carried out in a controlled clinical environment.
The Executive Director of PIMS stated that Imran Khan was administered the second dose of the Anti-VEGF intravitreal injection. Hospital authorities said that prior to administering the dose, a cardiology consultant conducted necessary examinations, including echocardiography and an ECG, both of which showed normal results. During his stay at the hospital, as well as throughout and after the procedure, his vital signs remained stable, and the consultant physician declared him medically stable.
The procedure was carried out under the guidance of consultant ophthalmologists and a consultant vitreoretinal surgeon from PIMS and Shifa Eye Hospital. According to the hospital statement, the treatment was performed as a day-care surgery, and a board of specialists conducted a thorough medical assessment before the procedure.
The hospital further stated that after completion of the examination and treatment, Imran Khan was discharged with necessary instructions, follow-up advice, prescriptions, and relevant medical documents.
