On the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Pakistani conjoined twins Sufyan and Yusuf arrived in Riyadh along with their family. The move is being viewed as a significant humanitarian initiative aimed at facilitating their treatment and assessing the possibility of separation surgery.
Upon arrival at Riyadh airport, the twins were immediately transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital, where detailed medical examinations will be conducted and the feasibility of separation surgery will be evaluated. Medical experts will assess their overall health condition before determining the next course of action.
Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Adviser to the Royal Court, Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and Head of the Saudi Program’s Medical and Surgical Team for Conjoined Twins, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Saudi leadership for this humanitarian initiative. He stated that the program continues its mission of providing care to children around the world facing complex medical conditions.
It is noteworthy that earlier in Riyadh, successful separation surgery was performed on Pakistani twin girls Yara and Lara. In addition, more than 65 children from Tanzania, the Philippines, and several other countries have also undergone successful surgeries under the program.
All expenses for these surgeries are borne by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, an initiative widely regarded as a major humanitarian effort on the global stage.
