Pakistan’s armed forces are continuing Operation Ghazab ul Haq along the Pak Afghan border in response to alleged unprovoked actions by the Afghan Taliban. According to security sources, 133 Taliban fighters have been killed and over 200 injured, while 27 Afghan posts have been completely destroyed.
Security sources state that following cross border firing at various locations, Pakistani security forces launched retaliatory operations in Nawagai Sector Bajaur, Tirah Khyber and other areas. An Afghan Taliban checkpoint in the Chitral sector was also reported destroyed.
Sources further claim that during the response, three Afghan battalions, a sector headquarters and an ammunition depot were destroyed, while more than 80 tanks, artillery units and armored vehicles were targeted. Two Pakistani soldiers were martyred and three injured during the clashes.
Operations were also carried out in the Gursal sector of Mohmand and Wali Khan sector, where several Afghan posts were destroyed. In the Angoor Adda sector, Afghan Charlie Post and Afghan Babri Post reportedly sustained heavy damage.
Additional actions were reported near Bajaur and Afghanistan’s Paktika province, where certain posts were targeted. Engagements were also reported near Angoor Adda and the Kurram sector.
Sources say attempts were made to target Pakistani checkpoints using quadcopters and drones, but timely action by security forces thwarted the efforts. Pakistani forces also reportedly used drones to strike certain border positions.
Security sources added that false claims and videos are circulating on social media, while Pakistan’s security forces remain fully prepared to defend the border and respond firmly to any aggression.
In separate incidents, mortar shells reportedly landed in the Laghari area of Bajaur and surrounding regions, injuring five civilians including three women. The injured were shifted to Khar Hospital for treatment. A mosque was also reportedly damaged during shelling.
Reports further state that the Pakistan Air Force targeted certain military installations, ammunition depots and logistics bases in Nangarhar and Kandahar.
