Recent negotiations between the United States and Iran were held with the facilitation of Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt, indicating increased diplomatic engagement in the region, according to a US-based website.
Axios reporter Barak Ravid stated that Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt are playing a key role in exchanging messages between the United States and Iran, helping maintain communication between the two sides.
According to Barak Ravid, the talks were made possible through the facilitation of these countries, which are working behind the scenes to bring both parties closer.
He further reported that Israeli officials believe the mediating countries want a meeting this week in Islamabad involving US Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner with an Iranian delegation that may include Speaker Ghalibaf.
Meanwhile, a British newspaper reported that Pakistan is positioning itself as a central mediator to help end tensions involving Iran, with senior Pakistani officials facilitating backchannel contacts between Iranian officials and US representatives.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has also stated that it is ready to host negotiations if the parties are willing, expressing its commitment to supporting peace efforts.
