Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has said that all political parties should come together to resolve disputed issues, while Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have already rejected negotiations with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
After the PPP Core Committee meeting under the chairmanship of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President PPP (Parliamentarians) Asif Ali Zardari, party leader Farhatullah Babar said in a statement that “it has been emphasized in the meeting that closing the door to negotiations is not a solution to the problem, and for this purpose, the party has decided to reach out to all parties in the coalition government to take a joint position on the issue of dialogue between political parties”.
Discussing recent court decisions in the context of Punjab elections, Farhatullah Babar said that the PPP believes that there are many reasons for the current political crisis, and giving preference to minority decisions over majority decisions in the courts is not the only reason, but this position is legally, ethically and politically unacceptable, and it requires reconsideration.
Farhatullah Babar said that the PPP’s opinion is that the dignity and honor of the judiciary should not be harmed in any way, so it is necessary to resolve the issue of conflicting decisions of the respected judiciary as soon as possible.
The PPP also believes that elections for all assemblies should be held on the same day according to the date given in the Constitution for free and fair elections.
