According to US media reports, discussions are underway between the United States, Iran, and a group of regional mediators regarding the terms of a possible 45-day ceasefire, which could pave the way for a permanent end to the conflict.
Sources claim that these talks are being conducted under a potential framework that may lead to a 45-day truce, during which further negotiations will take place to achieve lasting peace.
The sources noted that the chances of reaching even a partial agreement within the next 48 hours remain low; however, this effort is being seen as a critical and possibly final opportunity to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
The report stated that mediators are considering a two-phase agreement, with the first phase involving a 45-day ceasefire, during which discussions on a permanent resolution of the war will continue.
In the second phase, a formal agreement to end the war is expected to be finalized, while the ceasefire period may be extended if additional time is required for negotiations.
According to the report, both the White House and the US State Department have declined to comment on the developments.
