Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said that Iran will not participate in any further negotiations until the conditions outlined in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) have been fully implemented.
Ghalibaf stated that the current meetings involving Iranian officials are solely aimed at ensuring the implementation of commitments made under the MoU.
He said the agreement also included the establishment of a joint committee involving Iran, the United States and Lebanon to oversee the implementation of the Lebanon ceasefire arrangements.
The Iranian parliament speaker added that, under the memorandum, vessels will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without additional charges for a period of 60 days. However, he stressed that Iran will never compromise on its sovereign rights in the strategic waterway.
He further stated that sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and Oman, and maritime traffic will operate under arrangements determined by Iran.
Ghalibaf said Iran has exported more than 40 million barrels of oil since the naval blockade was lifted, warning that if the United States attempts to prevent Iranian oil exports again, no country will benefit from global oil supplies.
