Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has clarified his earlier remarks on terrorism, saying he used the wrong choice of words while referring to separatist organisations involved in violence and terrorist activities.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Bilawal Bhutto had said that the BLA, Sindhi nationalists and the TTP were working against Pakistan.
Responding to journalists’ questions at Parliament House on Thursday, Bilawal acknowledged that his choice of words had been incorrect and clarified the context of his statement.
He said he was referring to separatist organisations that had adopted the path of violence and were involved in acts of terrorism.
The PPP chairman further said that terrorists were being controlled from Afghanistan, while facilitators were operating from the neighbouring country.
Bilawal said extremist organisations had continued carrying out attacks in the form of the TTP and maintained that such groups were coordinating with one another.
According to the PPP chairman, links and coordination among terrorist and extremist organisations remain a significant challenge to Pakistan’s security.
