Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Maryam Aurangzeb, stated that the planning for the events of May 9 was carried out by Imran Khan, and strict action will be taken against those who disrupted law and order under the Civilian Laws, while the jurisdiction of military installations falls under the Army Act.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Maryam Aurangzeb said that a clear statement was issued during the National Security Committee meeting, leaving no room for any ambiguity that May 9 was a national tragedy and has been declared a day of mourning.
She stated that under Imran Khan’s orders and ill-conceived planning, the leadership of the PTI sent its armed factions to various military installations, hospitals, and schools.
She said that this is an act of hostility towards the country and falls into the category of treason. It had no impact whatsoever of a public protest; it was an orchestrated move by armed factions carried out on Imran Khan’s instructions, while sitting in Zaman Park, planning their strategy.
