Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has categorically denied the allegations levied against him in the Al-Qadir Trust case, stating that they are baseless, fabricated, false, and contrary to the truth, while apologizing for not appearing before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in response to the summons.
In a written response to the notice issued by NAB in the Al-Qadir Trust case, Imran Khan, the PTI Chairman, wrote that he is currently present in Lahore and is submitting requests for bail in multiple cases, for which the Lahore High Court has given him a hearing on May 22.
Imran Khan stated in his written response that due to the reasons of seeking bail in the cases, it is not possible for him to appear before NAB to record his statement or be part of the investigation.
Imran Khan further mentioned in his response that all the allegations mentioned in NAB’s notice are completely false, frivolous, non-serious, and based on deliberate misunderstandings and unfounded assumptions about the law and facts.
The PTI Chairman said that no case of misappropriation or corrupt practices can be constructed contrary to the facts and circumstances present in the case record. Instead, the entire purpose of initiating the inquiry and investigation in this case is political vengeance.
