Supreme Court Lawyer Abdul Razaq Shar has been shot and killed in Quetta. The deceased had filed a petition against former Prime Minister and Chairman of the PTI party.
According to the police, Abdul Razaq Shar was fired upon by unidentified individuals near Aaq Chawk on Airport Road in Quetta while he was on his way to court from his residence. He succumbed to his injuries, as bullets hit his head and chest. After the shooting, the suspects managed to escape the scene. The police found 9mm pistol shells at the crime scene.
Abdul Razaq Shar had filed a petition in the Balochistan High Court against the Chairman of PTI, accusing him of violating the constitution as the Prime Minister. He had requested the court to initiate a case of high treason under Article 6.
SP Shafqat Junjua stated that the body of Abdul Razaq Shar was taken from the hospital without a post-mortem, as claimed by the heirs.
Chief Minister of Balochistan, Abdul Qadoos Bizenjo, has taken notice of the incident and instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to request a report on the incident. The Chief Minister stated that a comprehensive review of all aspects of the incident should be conducted, and an immediate report should be submitted.
