Peshawar: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said, “When we go out, people say we have come to ask for money.” Shahbaz Sharif said that this is not the Pakistan for which sacrifices were made, we all have to work together for the development of the country.In the 90s, the Pakistani rupee was better than the Indian rupee.
During the inauguration ceremony of FATA University, Shahbaz Sharif also distributed laptops among young students. Governor and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with Federal Minister for Information Maryam Aurangzeb, were also present at the event.
Addressing the occasion, the Prime Minister said, “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the land of brave people. The people here have defended Pakistan with their blood, and this province has played a significant role in the war against terrorism.”
He stated that one hundred thousand laptops are being distributed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the distribution is being done on a merit basis. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of children benefited from laptops, which helped continue their education.
He said, “Due to the previous government, we had to go to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for financial support. We all have to come together to put Pakistan on its feet. Agriculture can change Pakistan’s destiny.”
Regarding receiving 2 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister said, “Going to the IMF was not a choice but a compulsion. Today, we are happy to receive 2 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia stood by Pakistan in difficult times, but I am very grateful to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Army Chief General Asim Munir.”
He said, “This is not the Pakistan for which sacrifices were made. We all have to work together for the progress of the country. In the 90s, the Pakistani rupee was stronger than the Indian rupee.”
Shahbaz Sharif said, “When we go out, people say we have come to ask for money. Therefore, we have to make a decision whether to keep our hands straight or ever turn them around.”
During his speech at the ceremony, the Prime Minister further stated that in the previous tenure, we distributed laptops to millions of students. We will continue to provide laptops to students throughout Pakistan, and the distribution will be based on the population of each province.
Shahbaz Sharif said, “We have to work day and night for the betterment of education, and there is also a need for research and development in the country.”
