Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has expressed suspicions of sabotage in the Hazara Express incident. 15 passengers died and more than 50 passengers were injured in the accident.
Fifteen passengers were killed and more than 50 passengers were injured in the accident that happened to the passenger train “Hazara Express” near Sirhari railway station in Nawabshah.
During a press briefing in Lahore, Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique was informed about the incident, during which he was discussing some new train projects.
Saad Rafique revealed during the press briefing that unfortunate news of 15 fatalities has emerged, and emergencies have been declared in hospitals in Nawabshah and Sukkur.
He mentioned that the train was traveling at a speed of 45 kilometers per hour.
The Railway Minister stated that either it’s a mechanical fault or sabotage. Whether it was sabotage or technical malfunction, the decision will be made by the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency), but first, relief work will be carried out, followed by investigations.
He remarked that he had been saying for a few days that no accident should occur, and unfortunately, it did happen.
