Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted his Lebanese counterpart on the issue of evacuating Pakistanis from Syria. According to sources, the Prime Minister sought assistance from the Lebanese Prime Minister for the evacuation of Pakistanis from Syria.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that 600 Pakistanis are currently in Syria, and evacuation can only be done via land routes as all Syrian airports are closed at the moment. The evacuation of Pakistanis from Syria is only possible through Lebanon, which is why he sought help from the Lebanese Prime Minister for this purpose.
Sources revealed that the Lebanese Prime Minister assured that whether there are 600 Pakistanis or more, all will be granted visas.
Work has reportedly started immediately to acquire Lebanese visas for the evacuation of Pakistanis. Instructions have been issued to the Pakistani ambassador for the swift evacuation of Pakistanis from Syria. The Lebanese Prime Minister also noted that Pakistan was the first country to send aid during Lebanon’s crisis.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that no miscreant group would be allowed to sabotage the country’s stabilizing economy. He made this remark during a high-level meeting on law and order.
The Prime Minister directed that actions against troublemakers in Islamabad be expedited, ensuring that no innocent or harmless citizens are arrested. He reiterated that no group would be permitted to undermine the stabilizing economy. During the meeting, the Prime Minister called for an effective identification process for miscreants and the provision of resources to the task force established against troublemakers. Additionally, he directed the transfer of the Federal Prosecution Service under the Ministry of Law. He instructed the early completion of prison construction in Islamabad with the release of necessary funds.
