Senior Minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Memon, has said that the Pakistan Peoples Party does not want the issue of political workers to go to the military court.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, he said that one team is negotiating with the government, while the other team is trying to defame Pakistan.
He stated that they have hired lobbyists to pressure Pakistan and that the IMF was misled in pursuit of its own relief.
The PPP leader said that work on the Red Line BRT project is ongoing day and night, and that any firm from around the world can conduct an audit. He emphasized that there has been no delay from the Sindh government, and that issues in the Red Line project are being resolved.
Sharjeel Memon said that there is no obstacle or delay from their side in the BRT project, adding that the transfer of utilities in the Red Line project is required, and not all utilities are under his control.
The senior minister of Sindh stated that no work was done during the caretaker government’s tenure and that some officers were also negligent during this period.
He said that the Jam Sadiq Bridge will be handed over to the citizens of Karachi in March 2025 and that where there are no issues, they are completing projects ahead of schedule.
Sharjeel Memon mentioned that there are challenges, but questioned whether projects should be halted in the face of problems. He stressed that the projects in Karachi are being developed for the next 100 years and that he cannot stop those who engage in point-scoring.
The provincial minister said that they are working day and night in good faith, and that missile technology was provided by the late Benazir Bhutto. He added that if anyone casts an evil eye on Pakistan, the country can give a response.
He wished everyone a happy new year and prayed that the new year would be blessed for all. He urged people to celebrate the new year, but not in a way that causes pain to others, and to avoid firing in the air, as it results in loss of life.
