Karachi: The situation at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport became complicated due to a water pipe burst in the domestic and international departure and arrival lounges.
According to sources, the burst pipeline caused water to accumulate in front of the international departure lounge and immigration counters, leading to difficulties for staff and passengers.
Airport authority staff are using buckets and wipers to remove the water, and at the same time, the firefighting pipeline at Jinnah Terminal also burst.
According to the spokesperson for Civil Aviation, water valves located in the western direction of Jinnah Terminal have been closed to stop the leakage, and efforts are being made to detect the cause of the pipeline leakage.
The spokesperson further mentioned that the pipeline repair work will be completed soon.
The airport’s pathways have been cleared using mats, and operations have not been affected. All airport activities are proceeding as usual, and passengers are not facing any difficulties.
