Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Newly Elected U.S. President Donald Trump Hold Telephone Conversation.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone discussion with newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump, congratulating President Trump on assuming office. Both leaders agreed to enhance bilateral ties, including mutual investments and discussed peace and security in the Middle East.
A day earlier, Prime Minister (Crown Prince) Mohammed bin Salman chaired a meeting of the Saudi Cabinet to review the latest regional and international developments. The Cabinet congratulated President Donald Trump on taking his constitutional oath of office and beginning his term as President of the United States.
The Saudi Cabinet expressed hope that the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which put an end to what was described as a “brutal Israeli war,” would help resolve the core issues of the conflict by ensuring the Palestinian people attain their rights—foremost among them the establishment of an independent state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
According to reports, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman informed President Trump that Saudi Arabia intends to invest up to 600 billion dollars in U.S. trade and investment over the next four years. He stated that the Trump administration’s anticipated reforms could bring about “unprecedented economic prosperity.” The Crown Prince added that if further opportunities arise, the Kingdom’s investments could increase even more.
