Health experts suggest that daily 20 minutes of exercise can help middle-aged and elderly individuals prevent serious medical problems. The study found that physically active participants had a lower risk of hospitalization.
According to a study published in JAMA Open Network in the United Kingdom, about 82,000 participants aged 42 to 78 years wore a fitness tracker called an accelerometer for one week between June 1, 2013 and December 23, 2015. This revealed that physically active participants had a lower risk of hospitalization.
The study found that people who exercised at least 20 minutes a day had a 3.8% lower risk of colon polyps and a 23% lower risk of diabetes. “These findings suggest that increasing moderate to vigorous physical activity by 20 minutes per day can help prevent many health problems.
