The three-day celebrations for the 773rd Urs of the great Sufi saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar have commenced. The inauguration of the Urs festivities was carried out by the Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Awais Qadir Shah, and the Minister of Auqaf Sindh, Riyaz Shah, who offered a chadar at the shrine.
On this occasion, a floral chadar was draped over the shrine, and prayers were offered for the peace and prosperity of the country. The celebrations are witnessing the arrival of millions of devotees from across the country, including Punjab. The streets and neighborhoods of Sehwan Sharif echo with the sounds of “Dama Dam Mast Qalandar,” while stringent security arrangements have been made.
During the celebrations, traditional Sindhi cultural games such as Mhal Malakhra will be held, and at night, the Shahbaz Auditorium Hall will host Sigharan Ji Kacheri and a music gathering.
