Tashkent: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again called on the Afghan interim government to prevent its territory from being used against Pakistan, emphasizing that peace and stability in Afghanistan are in the best interest of the entire region.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the prosperity and development of both nations is a shared goal. He affirmed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Uzbekistan alongside his team.
The Prime Minister reiterated his dedication to Pakistan’s economic growth, highlighting that within a year, the economy has been put back on track. He noted that a reduction in policy rates has boosted investor confidence and contributed to economic growth.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the significance of railway trade, stating that efforts will be made to facilitate investment in economic zones. He also mentioned plans to collaborate in the tourism sector and to establish connections between Uzbekistan and major Pakistani cities like Karachi and Lahore.
He reiterated that regional peace and stability are in everyone’s best interest and urged the Afghan interim government to ensure that its territory is not used against Pakistan, stressing that Afghanistan’s stability is crucial for the region.
