Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed stated that the Pakistan team put in hard work during the Champions Trophy, but the results did not favor them.
He emphasized that every team plays to win, yet people often claim that the team did not perform well. He added that former cricketers, management, and coaches all understand that no team plays to lose.
Sarfaraz Ahmed urged that criticism of players should be balanced, pointing out that those who now analyze matches on TV have themselves gone through similar phases. He noted that a player’s perspective while playing is different from when they retire.
The former captain remarked that winning and losing are part of the game. Speaking about the upcoming New Zealand tour, he said that the Pakistan squad consists of young players, and he hopes for positive results. He acknowledged that New Zealand conditions have always been challenging but praised PCB’s decision to send a new team for the tour.
Regarding the Champions Trophy final, he said that two top teams are set to face off. He also pointed out that the Indian team would have the advantage of staying in Dubai.
