The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially announced Eid-ul-Fitr holidays for the public sector.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) issued a circular stating that Eid holidays for federal government employees will be observed from 1st to 3rd Shawwal 1446 Hijri, with official work resuming on 4th Shawwal.
If Ramadan completes 30 days, an additional holiday on the 30th of Ramadan will extend the Eid break. FAHR also extended greetings to the UAE government, its citizens, residents, and the Arab and Islamic nations.
If the Shawwal moon is sighted on the evening of March 29 (Saturday), Eid will begin on March 30 (Sunday), with public holidays from Sunday to Tuesday, giving many workers a four-day weekend (Saturday to Tuesday).
If the moon is not sighted on Saturday, Ramadan will last 30 days, and Eid will start on March 31 (Monday). In this case, holidays will extend from Saturday to Wednesday, creating a five-day long weekend.
Pakistan
Astronomical experts predict that Ramadan will last 29 days, and Eid-ul-Fitr will be on March 31.
Experts forecast that the Eid moon will be visible in Pakistan on March 30 evening. At sunset, the moon will be 26 hours old, making its sighting highly probable. If Ramadan completes 30 days, Eid will be on April 1 (Tuesday).
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is expected to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on either March 30 or 31, depending on the moon sighting.
According to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources, private and non-profit sector employees will get a four-day holiday from Sunday, March 30, to Wednesday, April 2.
Additionally, the ministry has also announced six-day holidays for Eid-ul-Adha later in the year.
