In the Karachi Matric Board annual examinations, 380,000 candidates have been registered. For them, 499 examination centers have been established. A total of 375,000 male and female students will appear in the Science and General Group regular and private examinations.
According to the administration, if any device or mobile phone is found in the examination centers, it will be confiscated. Photocopy machines around the examination centers will remain closed during the exams. A written request has also been made to K-Electric to avoid load-shedding.
According to the Controller of Examinations, letters have been issued to the relevant institutions regarding foolproof arrangements.
Chairman Matric Board Ghulam Hussain Sohu said that Rangers and Police were also requested for assistance. However, our arrangements are complete, and we have tried our best to ensure no mistakes occur. Efforts have been made to provide every kind of facility to students at the examination centers.
He said that the exam papers have been made easy. Nineteen hubs have been created for the distribution of question papers. Officers have been asked to work honestly, and efforts are being made to ensure that students at the exam centers do not face any problems.
Matric exams under the Larkana Board have also started from today. For the first time, papers are being taken under the e-marking and OMR system. E-marking will be done for the 9th-grade English paper for the first time, and all papers of the 10th grade will be checked through the OMR system.
A total of 112,735 male and female students are taking part in the Larkana Board exams. To prevent cheating during exams, 36 teams have been formed.
In Nawabshah, 163 examination centers have been established across the division for the exams. In Shaheed Benazirabad district, 48 centers; in Sanghar, 57; and in Naushahro Feroze, 58 examination centers have been established.
According to the Controller of Examinations, 18 teams have been formed in Nawabshah to prevent cheating. A total of 103,023 candidates in the Science and General Group will take the exams. Students will appear in exams in two shifts. Section 144 has been imposed in examination centers to prevent cheating. Moreover, students are prohibited from bringing mobile phones to the examination centers.
On the other hand, matric annual examinations have also started from today in Peshawar and across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the provincial education department, 920,211 students are taking part in the exams across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A total of 475,807 students are appearing in 9th-grade exams, while 444,404 will take 10th-grade exams.
Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3,634 examination centers have been established. The number of supervisory staff for the exams is 25,810. The education department has set up complaint portals via hotline, WhatsApp number, and website.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister Faisal Tarakai said that a zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against cheating.
