Islamabad: Orders have been issued to immediately block the passports of Pakistani nationals deported from other countries. According to details, an important meeting was held at the Directorate of Immigration and Passport under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, during which it was decided to block the passports of deported Pakistanis without delay.
Minister of State Talal Chaudhry stated that this decision would send a positive message to the international community and that the implementation of passport blocking for deportees would be ensured.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Secretary Interior, and DG FIA. Various matters were discussed, along with future strategies to improve public services. DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi briefed the participants, stating that a mobile app would soon be launched to facilitate passport-related services.
It was revealed that the Interior Minister directed that all legal formalities regarding the new policy be completed promptly to prevent illegal immigration and beggary. Mohsin Naqvi also inspected six newly installed MRP and two e-passport machines, which are expected to enhance the department’s capacity. On this occasion, the Interior Minister also met with the Pakistan Eye German team that assisted in the installation of these machines.
Additionally, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with DG FIA Rafat Mukhtar. Newly appointed Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Waqaruddin Syed, Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, and Federal Secretary for Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha were also present. The Interior Minister instructed the DG FIA to formulate an effective strategy against illegal immigration and directed the DG NCCIA to take measures to combat cybercrimes.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that indiscriminate action should be taken across all four provinces to stop human trafficking and that those involved in this heinous crime should be dealt with firmly. He stated that human traffickers are playing with innocent lives. Furthermore, he noted that cybersecurity is a new challenge, so the capacity of NCCIA will be enhanced and officers will be sent abroad for training.
