Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt by militants at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, killing 54 terrorists. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), militants attempted to infiltrate from the Hasan Khel area of North Waziristan, which was thwarted.
ISPR stated that during the nights of April 25-26 and again on April 26-27, 2025, a large movement of militants across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Hasan Khel area of North Waziristan was timely prevented by security forces.
The statement added that security forces effectively neutralized the enemy’s intentions through a successful strategy, sending all 54 militants to hell.
According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered from the dead militants.
ISPR said that according to intelligence reports, the militants were attempting to infiltrate Pakistan to carry out major terrorist attacks under the direction of their “foreign masters.”
The statement mentioned that at a time when India is levelling baseless allegations against Pakistan, this militant activity indicates who is directing them. Such actions amount to treason against the state and the people.
The Pakistan Army spokesperson said that the recent National Security Committee meeting also emphasized that India’s strategic objective is to divert Pakistan’s security forces’ attention from the war against terrorism to provide breathing space to militants, who our armed forces’ strong operations have badly defeated.
The statement highlighted that Pakistan’s security forces prevented a major tragedy through exceptional professionalism, alertness, and preparedness. This operation marks the highest number of militants killed in a single action in the ongoing campaign against terrorism.
ISPR added that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to defending the nation’s borders and eradicating terrorism. Such bold and decisive actions further strengthen our national resolve and are proof of Pakistan’s significant achievements in the war against terrorism.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, during a press conference in Lahore, said that today is a big day for us, as security forces received timely intelligence about the attack, and forces were alerted about the infiltration attempt. Strategically, the militants were surrounded from three sides, and 54 militants were killed, marking the largest number of militants sent to hell to date.
He said that they had prior intelligence that foreign masters were pressuring the militants to infiltrate Pakistan as soon as possible and carry out terrorist activities. Based on this information, border surveillance and checking were intensified, leading to the detection of these militants.
The Federal Interior Minister further said that thanks to God, every move by India is being detected or intercepted, and pressure was also being exerted from India on the militants to infiltrate Pakistan and commit acts of terrorism.
He mentioned that the images shared by ISPR show the bodies of the 54 terrorists, providing strong evidence to the world that someone is supporting these terrorists and that they have a purpose. After this incident, we are even more certain about who is harming Pakistan.
The Interior Minister stated that all security forces deserve credit for this operation.
He further mentioned that in the National Security Committee meeting, discussions were held on how attempts are being made to derail our successes and divert attention from the western border to allow militants time to regroup and strengthen for future attacks.
Mohsin Naqvi noted that the militants have been consistently weakened in recent times, with an increase in the number of terrorists killed or arrested over the past two weeks, which is a positive sign for us.
The Interior Minister emphasized that in the future, any terrorist attempting to infiltrate or commit terrorism will be caught and eliminated in the same manner, and all conspiracies will be thwarted.
He said that Pakistan’s armed forces remain vigilant at all times, and if any further attempt is made, India will realize how a response is given.
In response to a question, the Federal Interior Minister said that Pakistan is ready for a transparent and impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident and will fully cooperate in this regard.
