According to the PDMA report, storms and rainfall since May 27 have caused several accidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in 8 deaths and 21 injuries.
Among the deceased are 5 men, 2 women, and 1 child, while the injured include 10 men, 5 women, and 6 children.
The report states that a total of 25 houses were damaged due to rain and strong winds — 24 partially and 1 completely destroyed.
Incidents were reported in various districts of the province, including Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Shangla, Swat, Torghar, Mohmand, Mansehra, and Haripur.
PDMA has instructed the respective district administrations to immediately provide relief to affected families and ensure the injured receive proper medical care.
Rainfall is expected to continue until May 31. In this regard, PDMA had already issued directives to district administrations to remain on alert and take precautionary measures in advance.
According to PDMA, the authority remains in constant contact with all district administrations and relevant relief agencies. The PDMA Emergency Operations Center is fully operational, and citizens are advised to report any untoward incidents by calling 1700.
