The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has carried out successful operations against drug smuggling in various cities across the country, arresting a total of six suspects during nine operations. These actions were conducted near educational institutions, airports, and key highways, aimed at protecting the younger generation from the poison of narcotics.
According to the spokesperson of the ANF headquarters, a total of 26.437 kilograms of drugs were recovered, with an estimated value exceeding 4.249 million rupees. In Islamabad, 500 grams of opium were seized from a suspect near a university, while in Mansehra, 330 grams of hashish and 13 grams of ice were recovered from another suspect near Punjab Chowk.
Importantly, the arrested suspects confessed that they were supplying drugs to students of educational institutions. Additionally, at Allama Iqbal International Airport, a passenger traveling to Dubai was apprehended after 864 grams of heroin and 25 grams of clonazepam-filled capsules were found in his luggage.
At Bacha Khan International Airport, 95 grams of ice-filled capsules were recovered from the stomach of a passenger traveling to Doha. Similarly, at Islamabad International Airport, 50 ice-filled capsules weighing 360 grams were recovered from the body of a passenger heading to Dubai.
Meanwhile, 2.4 kilograms of hashish were found in parcels being sent to Faisalabad from a courier office located on Ring Road, Peshawar. On RCD Road near Hub, 7.2 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a passenger’s bag, while near Sangjani Toll Plaza in Islamabad, 8.4 kilograms of hashish and 5 kilograms of ice were seized.
According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered against all arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigation has been initiated.
