Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has taken fans by surprise with her appearance in the trailer of the Indian Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3. Despite ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan and repeated calls for bans and boycotts, Indian actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh sparked buzz by releasing the official teaser of his upcoming film featuring Hania Aamir.
Speculations had long been circulating about Hania Aamir’s involvement in Sardaar Ji 3, though no official confirmation had surfaced until now. The rumors gained traction after Diljit Dosanjh invited Hania on stage during one of his concerts in London, sparking hopes for a collaborative project between the two. Some media outlets even reported that Hania was making her Indian film debut with Diljit’s movie.
However, amid rising border tensions, reports emerged suggesting that Hania had been dropped from the project. These assumptions seemed to gain credibility when Diljit released the first official poster of the film without featuring Hania Aamir.
In a series of promotional images shared by Diljit on Instagram, fellow Punjabi superstar Neeru Bajwa was prominently featured, but eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot Hania Aamir in the background. Still, neither Hania nor Diljit commented on the matter publicly at the time.
Everything changed on the night of June 22, when Diljit Dosanjh released the official trailer for Sardaar Ji 3, confirming Hania’s role and leaving fans astonished. The trailer revealed Neeru Bajwa in her usual charismatic form, but it was Hania Aamir’s unexpected appearance that stole the spotlight, especially considering the ban on Pakistani artists in Indian cinema.
The trailer shows Hania delivering fluent Punjabi dialogues and sharing romantic scenes with Diljit. One standout moment features her in a traditional saree, which particularly captivated audiences.
After Diljit posted the trailer on his Instagram account, Hania also shared it to her story with a playful caption mimicking Diljit’s signature tone: “Pindi boy aa gaye oye!”

Social media reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans expressing joy and excitement in the comments section about Hania’s inclusion in the film.
Interestingly, Diljit has announced that Sardaar Ji 3 will be released overseas rather than in India. With growing pressure from Indian film authorities — including a warning from the president of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, BN Tiwari, threatening to expel Diljit from the industry for working with a Pakistani actress — the film’s release strategy has sparked further controversy.
It’s worth noting that Indian platforms currently enforce a blanket ban on Pakistani artists and content. Now, all eyes are on whether Hania Aamir’s role in Sardaar Ji 3 will pose new challenges for Diljit Dosanjh within the Indian entertainment industry.
