A major development has emerged in the case regarding the auction of properties linked to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in a NAB reference. The Assistant Commissioner Secretariat has issued an official auction notice, while PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has termed the news of the alleged auction of the Bani Gala residence as a sudden revelation.
According to the notice, the auction will be held under the NAB reference in Union Council Bhara Kahu, where Imran Khan’s property in Mouza Mohra Noor will be presented for sale. The auction includes 248 kanals 8 marlas and 405 kanals 3 marlas of land.
The notice specifies that participants must submit a pay order of Rs50 million in the name of the NAB chairman to take part in the auction. Interested buyers may visit the property beforehand, while the relevant patwari will provide all necessary details. The auction will be conducted following the terms and conditions approved by the Evaluation Committee.
Meanwhile, Salman Akram Raja, in a statement on the social media platform X, said that if reports of the Bani Gala residence auction are accurate, it would be the result of a covert action, as the property’s administrators were unaware. He added that the party’s legal team is actively working to get to the bottom of the matter, and the facts will be revealed soon.
Later, in another post, the PTI Secretary General clarified that in NAB reference number 19/2023 — commonly known as the Al-Qadir Trust case — other accused have been declared absconders and proclaimed offenders. He said that the auction notice published today pertains to the properties of those accused, and the team is keeping a close watch on developments.
