In Rawalpindi’s Dhamaial Police jurisdiction, near Gurja Road cemetery, rumors about the missing body of a 7-year-old girl, Alina, from her grave have been dismissed after an official investigation and exhumation process.
Initially, reports suggested that the girl’s body was missing from her grave, prompting her father to file a petition in court. Acting on the request, the court took notice, and Judicial Magistrate Syed Ali Jawad Naqvi ordered an exhumation to confirm the situation.
On court orders, the police, medical board, cemetery administration, and judicial staff were present during the process. Additional security was also deployed around the cemetery to ensure law and order during the proceedings.
During the exhumation, it was confirmed that Alina’s body was intact inside the grave, and the circulating rumors proved to be baseless. The girl was later reburied with due respect.
It should be noted that the father had told the court that his daughter had passed away on August 26 and was buried at Gurja Road cemetery. However, upon visiting the grave again for prayers, he found pieces of the shroud lying near the grave, which raised his suspicion that the body might have been removed. This concern led him to approach the court.
Officials have now confirmed that the investigation has been concluded, and the rumors of a missing body were unfounded.
