Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has intensified its political and legal efforts to push for an early hearing on the petition seeking suspension of the convictions handed down to its founder, Imran Khan, and his wife, Bushra Bibi, as part of its broader strategy to secure swift relief in the high-profile case.
Within the Islamabad High Court, PTI leaders and legal representatives are actively engaged in efforts to ensure that the suspension petition in the £190 million case is scheduled without further delay, holding continuous discussions and making formal approaches to accelerate the process.
It is significant to note that a two-member bench of the court had already directed that the case be fixed for an early hearing. However, despite this order, the suspension petition for Imran Khan and his wife has not yet been listed for proceedings and remains pending.
Earlier today, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, personally appeared in the Chief Justice’s chamber to press for an expedited hearing. On the occasion, lawyers Niazullah Niazi, Naeem Haider Panjutha, and Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry were present at the High Court, while Intizar Hussain Panjutha and Advocate Ali Bukhari also arrived later to join the proceedings.
