Islamabad: A mild scene of tension unfolded at the Supreme Court when police officers stopped the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from proceeding toward the chamber of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. The move by law enforcement created a brief standoff, prompting an exchange of words between lawyers and the police.
According to police officials, no individual is allowed to approach the Chief Justice’s chamber without prior authorization. At this point, senior lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa argued that Aleema Khan was a petitioner and intended to hand over a letter from her brother Imran Khan directly to the Chief Justice; therefore, she should be permitted to move ahead.
However, police personnel maintained that without the registrar’s office granting explicit permission, no one could be allowed access. They further stated that the Chief Justice’s courtroom session had already concluded, making it impossible for anyone to enter the chamber at that time.
It is noteworthy that Imran Khan’s sisters were accompanied by the party’s legal team during the incident. The team was led by senior lawyers Sardar Latif Khosa and Intizar Panjutha, along with other members of PTI’s legal wing who were monitoring the situation closely.
