Due to administrative challenges and technical malfunctions, a total of 13 flights were cancelled while 44 others faced significant delays. According to the flight schedule, a technical fault in a national airline ATR aircraft led to the cancellation of flights from Karachi to Gwadar, Turbat, and Sukkur.
Additionally, two Pakistan International Airlines flights from Karachi to Dubai, PK 213 and PK 214, were cancelled. One flight from Lahore to Dubai and another from Islamabad to Abu Dhabi were also grounded. The flight schedule further confirmed that three flights from Peshawar to Dubai and Abu Dhabi were cancelled as well.
Flight delays added to passengers’ difficulties. Four flights from Karachi and sixteen from Islamabad were delayed between one and twelve hours. The national airline’s Islamabad to Kuala Lumpur service, PK 894, suffered a delay of 12 hours. Likewise, four flights from Peshawar to Sharjah, Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah were delayed by one to eight hours.
Moreover, four flights from Islamabad to Skardu faced delays of three to five hours, while six Karachi-bound and fourteen Lahore-bound flights were delayed by one to six hours. In addition, a private airline flight, ER 811, from Jeddah to Karachi experienced a delay of ten hours.
