Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has returned to Pakistan after completing a series of successful foreign visits that included highly significant engagements in the United States and Saudi Arabia.
During his visit to Washington, he held detailed meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump as well as with leaders of several Arab and Islamic countries, where matters of mutual interest, regional stability, and international cooperation were extensively discussed. These meetings were described by officials as crucial in strengthening Pakistan’s diplomatic ties at the global level.
While in New York, the Prime Minister also attended the high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he delivered an important address to the world community. In his speech, Shehbaz Sharif forcefully highlighted the long-standing dispute of Kashmir and also drew attention to the plight of the Palestinian people, urging the international community to play its role in ensuring justice and peace in both regions. His remarks were seen as a strong reflection of Pakistan’s consistent foreign policy stance on these core issues.
Earlier, during his official visit to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed a historic defense agreement aimed at enhancing bilateral security and strategic cooperation between the two countries. Upon his return to Pakistan, a warm reception was accorded to him at Noor Khan Airbase, where the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and the Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, personally welcomed him, marking the conclusion of a tour that government sources have described as both productive and diplomatically rewarding.
