The Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi has once again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, the sister of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, in connection with the November 26 protest case. The court has ordered the police to arrest her and present her on October 24.
During the hearing presided over by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, it was revealed that Aleema Khan had failed to appear before the court. In response, the judge ordered the confiscation of surety bonds worth one million rupees and directed the city police officer to ensure immediate execution of the arrest warrants.
A show-cause notice was issued to her guarantor, Muhammad Sharif, who had provided surety worth one million rupees. Meanwhile, the court expressed strong displeasure over the police report declaring Aleema Khan as absconding, calling it fake and fabricated.
The court issued contempt of court notices to SP Rawal Muhammad Saad and DSP Waris Khan Naeem, summoning both officers to appear in person on October 24. The judge remarked that if Aleema Khan is truly hiding, how are her media appearances and interviews being broadcast? Reports on social media also confirm her presence.
Additionally, the court ordered the confiscation of surety bonds worth 8.5 million rupees for four vehicles and adjourned the hearing until October 24.
