The government of Balochistan has suspended mobile internet data services in Quetta for 24 hours due to security concerns.
According to a statement issued by the Home Department, the mobile data service has been temporarily shut down to maintain law and order in the provincial capital. The suspension will remain in effect until midnight tonight.
Officials stated that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure, though the suspension has caused difficulties for students, business professionals, and individuals relying on online services.
This is not the first time internet services have been disrupted in the province. Earlier, mobile internet services across several districts, including Quetta, were suspended for several days. The provincial government later restored connectivity after 16 days in compliance with the Balochistan High Court’s directives.
