A video showing well-known TV news host Shahzeb Khanzada of a private news channel being harassed along with his wife at a shopping mall has gone viral across social media platforms. In the footage, a man can be heard saying that Shahzeb Khanzada should be ashamed of the facts he presented against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
The video shows Shahzeb Khanzada accompanied by his wife, and despite the accusations and harassment, the couple refrained from reacting and maintained composure during the confrontation. Following the incident, the situation sparked strong debate and commentary on social media.
PTI leader Shehbaz Gill commented on the matter, stating that Shahzeb Khanzada had, in his view, previously engaged in objectionable commentary, and if media organizations had condemned it at the time, the situation might not have escalated to this extent. His remarks referred directly to the harassment incident involving the journalist.
Shahzeb Khanzada later responded, saying that several false claims made by Shehbaz Gill during his tenure as a government official had been exposed in the past and that he continues to mislead even today. He stated that critics generally do not care about factual accuracy, regardless of whether they support Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar also shared a clip of his response, writing that individuals who publish names and addresses of journalists and their children on social media and incite violence against them are responsible for a highly dangerous trend. He referred to an earlier incident in which threats were issued by intruding inside the residence of journalist Muzammil. Atta Tarar strongly condemned the harassment of Shahzeb Khanzada and assured that authorities would trace the individual involved in the incident.
Although the viral video did not provide details explaining the accusations, PTI leader Shehbaz Gill shared an old program clip in which Shahzeb Khanzada discussed Bushra Bibi’s iddat case related to her marriage during the period of religious waiting.
