Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has once again warned of the risk of tension and possible war with India, saying that peace has not yet been fully established in the region.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif clarified that the recent tensions with India are not a mere coincidence but rather a continuation of a long-standing proxy war that has been going on for decades and has become an important tool of modern war strategy.
According to Khawaja Asif, the proxy war has intensified in recent years. He recalled that this proxy war began in the 1980s, during which several explosions took place in Lahore and Rawalpindi. The Defense Minister said that the threat of another war with India was present even immediately after the May war and has not completely disappeared even today.
The Defense Minister further said that Pakistan’s recent success against India has been acknowledged internationally, and the US intervened during this time to avert a major conflict. He recalled that the Pakistan Air Force had inflicted a heavy defeat on India in the Battle of Haq in May, in which seven Indian aircraft, including a Rafale, were destroyed, and the S-400 defense system was also disabled.
Khawaja Asif’s statement indicates that the peace situation in the region is still fragile and tensions with India have not completely subsided, so the authorities are emphasizing the need to remain constantly vigilant and keep defense preparations strong.
