The Pakistan Muslim League (N) emerged as the leading party in the latest by-elections, securing victories on six National Assembly seats and seven Provincial Assembly constituencies.
According to the unofficial and unconfirmed results, PML-N managed to reclaim nearly all seats previously vacated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Meanwhile, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) succeeded in winning only one provincial seat.
National Assembly Results
NA-129 Lahore
PML-N’s Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman claimed a decisive lead with 63,441 votes, while PTI-backed independent candidate Arsalan Ahmed secured 29,099 votes. The seat had fallen vacant after the demise of PTI’s Mian Azhar.
NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan
PML-N’s Mahmood Qadir Khan won the contest with 82,416 votes, defeating PPP’s Dost Muhammad Khosa, who obtained 49,262 votes. This constituency was vacated after the disqualification of PTI’s Zartaj Gul.
NA-143 Sahiwal
According to non-official results, PML-N’s Muhammad Tufail Jutt secured a commanding victory with 136,223 votes, while independent candidate Zarrar Akbar Chaudhry managed only 13,220 votes. The seat was left vacant after the disqualification of PTI’s Hassan Nawaz.
NA-104 Faisalabad
PML-N’s Daniyal Ahmed emerged victorious with 52,791 votes, while independent candidate Rana Adnan Javed followed with 19,262 votes.
NA-96 Faisalabad
All 345 polling stations reported PML-N’s Bilal Badar Chaudhry as the winning candidate with 93,009 votes. He is the brother of Minister of State Tallal Chaudhry.
Provincial Assembly Results
PP-87 Mianwali
PML-N’s Ali Haider Noor Khan Niazi secured 67,986 votes, defeating independent candidate Muhammad Ayaz Khan Niazi, who received 3,310 votes. The seat had earlier been held by former Opposition Leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar.
PP-98 Faisalabad
PML-N’s Azad Ali Tabassum won with 44,388 votes, while independent candidate Muhammad Ajmal obtained 35,245 votes.
PP-115 Faisalabad
As per unofficial results, PML-N’s Muhammad Tahir Pervaiz took the lead with 49,049 votes, while independent contender Muhammad Asghar secured 18,098 votes.
PP-116 Faisalabad
All 190 polling station results confirm that PML-N’s Ahmed Shehryar won the seat with 48,824 votes, defeating independent candidate Malik Asghar Ali Qaiser, who secured 11,429 votes. Ahmed Shehryar is the son-in-law of Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah. This seat had been vacated after the disqualification of PTI’s Ismail Silla.
PP-203 Sahiwal
PML-N’s Muhammad Hanif achieved victory with 46,900 votes, while independent candidate Falak Sher obtained 10,895 votes.
PP-73 Sargodha
PML-N’s Sultan Ali Ranjha claimed a strong win with 71,770 votes, while independent candidate Mehr Mohsin Raza received 12,970 votes.
PP-269 Muzaffargarh
This was the only provincial constituency where the PML-N faced defeat. PPP’s Mian Almdar Abbas Qureshi won the seat with 55,611 votes, based on the results from all 156 polling stations.
Major Upset: NA-18 Haripur
The biggest surprise of the by-elections came from NA-18 Haripur, where PML-N’s Babar Nawaz Khan defeated Shahrnaz Umar Ayub, the wife of PTI leader and former Opposition Leader Umar Ayub.
Babar Nawaz secured 163,996 votes, while Shahrnaz obtained 120,220 votes.
The seat had been left vacant after Umar Ayub was disqualified in a May 9-related case.
