Islamabad: The Federal Constitutional Court has officially announced its winter holidays, under which the court will remain closed from December 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
According to the details, a notification regarding the holidays has been issued. The recently established Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) released its schedule for the winter recess and stated that regular hearings will resume on January 5, 2026.
The official notification clarified that the court offices will remain open during the holidays, and important as well as pre-scheduled cases will continue to ensure that essential judicial matters are not disrupted.
It is worth noting that the Federal Constitutional Court was established under the 27th Constitutional Amendment, aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s judicial structure and ensuring the protection of constitutional rights. The primary role of the court is to interpret the Constitution and resolve legal disputes of a constitutional nature.
Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the court, while Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, Justice Karim Khan Agha, Justice Rozi Khan Buledi, and Justice Arshad Hussain Shah are serving as judges of the court.
A statement published on the official website of the Federal Constitutional Court quoted Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan saying that the establishment of the court marks an important milestone in Pakistan’s constitutional journey. He stated that the mandate of the court is to interpret the Constitution with independence and integrity, protect fundamental rights, and ensure that the constitutional framework serves as a source of stability, justice, and balance for all state institutions.
