At least two people have been killed and six injured, while several buildings have been damaged, as a result of a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Pakistan, including Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
According to the Meteorological Department, the earthquake occurred at 9:47 pm on Tuesday, with tremors felt at a magnitude of 6.8 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, with a depth of 180 kilometers. So far, there have been no reports of any casualties or financial losses as a result of the tremors.
Eyewitnesses have reported feeling the tremors for more than 30 seconds, which caused widespread panic among the people.
During this time, people rushed out of their homes in fear and began reciting the Quran.
The earthquake was felt in various other cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Swat, Nowshera, Multan, Shangla, Quetta, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mianwali, Khanewal, Toba Tek Singh, Para Chinar, Kurram, Lucky Marwat, Mardan, and Skardu.
