Security forces killed twelve India-backed militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Kalat district of Balochistan, according to a statement issued by the ISPR.
The military’s media wing said the operation was conducted on Saturday after reports that militants belonging to an alleged Indian proxy group, Fitna al-Hindustan—a name Pakistan uses for the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA)—were present in the area.
The statement added that security forces effectively targeted the militants’ hideout, and after a heavy exchange of fire, all twelve militants were neutralised. According to the ISPR, the individuals were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region and were operating with Indian support.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials were recovered from the site, and a sanitisation operation is underway to clear the area of any remaining threat.
Reaffirming its stance, ISPR said that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counterterrorism mission under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” and the National Action Plan until the elimination of all externally sponsored terrorism from the country.
