The inquiry into the incident at Karachi Airport—where a private airline staff member allegedly tore a passenger’s passport—has now been completed, and the Pakistan Airport Authority’s investigative report has held the airline’s staff entirely responsible.
The report further states that the staff’s negligence not only caused serious inconvenience to the passenger but also prevented him from boarding his scheduled flight.
According to sources, the passenger, Qudrat Ullah, arrived at the private airline’s counter for documentation checks before departing for Jeddah. The report reveals that during passport inspection, the counter staff member, Kiran, acted negligently while removing a sticker, which resulted in the passport being torn, rendering it unusable for travel.
The passenger had reached the counter at 1:25 PM, but after the damage to his passport, he was denied boarding. Following the incident, he exited the International Departure Terminal building and began shouting in protest.
The investigation also highlights that none of the airline staff members attempted to address the passenger’s complaint, nor did they come forward to manage the situation or communicate with him. The Pakistan Airport Authority’s report points to serious negligence, lack of professionalism, and irresponsible behavior by the private airline’s team.
