Rawalpindi: Security forces and police carried out two separate operations in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing a total of 11 Khwarij, while clearance operations in the areas are still underway.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was conducted in North Waziristan based on credible information. During an intense exchange of fire, security forces eliminated six Khwarij.
The ISPR said that in another operation in Kurram district, police and security forces jointly neutralized five more Khwarij. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed militants during the operation.
The military’s media wing stated that the eliminated Khwarij were linked to the Indian-sponsored proxy group Fitna-al-Khawarij and were involved in multiple acts of terrorism and targeted killings.
According to the ISPR, clearance operations by security forces and police are ongoing, and efforts to trace remaining militants in the area continue. The statement added that under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, counterterrorism operations will continue with full resolve until the complete elimination of foreign-sponsored terrorism.
