Turkey has formally expressed its desire to join the defense alliance between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, a development being viewed as significant for regional security dynamics.
According to a report by international media outlet Bloomberg, a potential defense alliance involving Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia could significantly alter the balance of power across the Middle East and beyond.
It is worth recalling that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a joint defense agreement last year, under which any act of aggression against one country would be considered an act of aggression against both. This provision is similar to Article Five of the NATO alliance, of which Turkey is already a member.
Bloomberg further reports that a formal agreement among the three countries to include Turkey in the Pakistan–Saudi defense alliance could be finalized in the near future, potentially expanding strategic and defense cooperation.
