Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has strongly rejected reports suggesting that protesters are being sentenced to death in Iran, stating clearly that there is no such plan under consideration.
In an interview with a US media outlet, Araghchi said that the question of executing people in Iran does not arise at all and that claims regarding executions are entirely unfounded.
He explained that protests against economic hardships continued peacefully for nearly ten days across the country. However, he added that violent incidents occurred for three days afterward, which he claimed were orchestrated by external actors, particularly Israel.
The Iranian foreign minister further alleged that certain elements involved in the unrest were being directed from abroad. According to him, some protesters opened fire on police personnel, carried out ISIS-style terrorist attacks, and even set security officers on fire in some areas.
Araghchi said that the situation has now been fully brought under control and that peace has been restored across the country. He reiterated with confidence that there is no plan to carry out executions of protesters in Iran.
