Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stated that the government is taking special and practical measures to address the financial difficulties faced by police officers, to ensure improved salaries and better facilities for every officer. He emphasized that the welfare of the police force remains a key priority of the government.
During his visit to the National Police Academy in Islamabad, the interior minister reviewed ongoing renovation and development work at the academy. He also issued necessary instructions to the Commandant of the National Police Academy, Muhammad Idris, regarding the timely completion of these projects.
Addressing trainee Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), Mohsin Naqvi announced that plots would be allocated to officers at the time of their passing out, as part of efforts to enhance officer welfare. He added that the current police batch would be trained in line with international standards.
The interior minister further revealed that trainee ASPs would be sent to Beijing for a one-month training program, where they would receive exposure to modern policing practices, investigation techniques, and advanced administrative systems.
He said that new and advanced training modules would be introduced to align police training with modern requirements, ensuring improvements in the professional competence, operational skills, and leadership capabilities of officers.
Mohsin Naqvi also stated that, with the support of the National Police Foundation, modern facilities would be provided for police officers, while longstanding promotion-related issues within the force would also be addressed through structured reforms.
